An Association "Lubuski Komitet Europejski" (Lubuski European Committee) came into existence and was registred in the end of august 1998, on the area of Lubuskie Province, on initiative of Euroregion "Sprewa-Nysa-Bóbr", with the seat in Gubin, and of Ośrodek Doskonalenia Nauczycieli (Teachers Training Centre) in Zielona Góra. Main purpose of the association acting is the european edcation addressed to the whole society and the support given to the people, institutions and associations that are acting for Poland's integration with European Union.
On initiative of the Committee and Pedagogic High School in Zielona Góra (nowadays: Zielonogórski University) created the Regional Centre for European Information (previously: Information and European Studies Centre)

Góra.Intetion of the Committee is to take role of regional centre that promotes Poland's integration with European Union processes. In relation with that the Lubuski European Committee links a cooperation with proeuropean institutions in the country and abroad also.
